High school students are always urged to fill out college applications as part of their daily routine. They research different colleges based off of things like location, pledging opportunities, history, etc. But they all have one thing in common, they are all skeptical about the prices included. There are some who don’t think twice about the cost of education and then there are the ones who cancel the application when they hear about the prices. The two articles How the Cost of College Went from Affordable to Sky High by Claudio Sanchez and College is Too Expensive? That 's a Myth by Lamar Alexander will be compared and contrasted on a few topics that seem reasonable pertaining the cost of education for a college applicant. Education has …show more content…
These help with knocking off a few dollars from the final cost an applicant will pay towards obtaining a college degree. Sanchez wrote that the Federal Government assisted families with a loan called Federal Perkins Loan Program. As campuses flourished with applicants who believed in the government, results were right and there were more opportunities for citizens to be able to afford college. Sanchez emphasizes that the increase of college education is inadmissible. Unlike Alexander, who stands behind the thought that it is affordable for any applicant. In the same way, Sanchez and Alexander have proven to think alike in some situations about the cost of education. They both seem to think that after all the hard work is achieved, a college degree will result in an impeccable increase in that applicant’s lifetime earnings.
