A clique is just a group of people spending a lot of time together because they all have something in common. In high school, a person can walk down the halls and through the flood of students and see all kinds of cliques. Each clique has their own drama, their own way of doing things and, their own personality as a group. There are several different types of cliques too such as active cliques, creative cliques, and intelligent cliques. It is usually not very hard to determine what the common factor is in a clique, most of the time just looking at a clique can give it away. There are cliques because something brought all those people together, whether it was a type of music, a way of living or even bonding over the love they all share for a certain T.V. show.
The Athlete Clique consists of students of all ages and most in the Athlete Clique play more than one sport all year. They could play football in the Fall and play baseball in the Spring. One could also be a cheerleader in the Fall and then play basketball in the Winter. This clique in some schools could also be the “Popular” Clique because they are what makes the school proud, especially a school in a “football town” such as Rosman, North Carolina. In high school English class, the teacher will often have students read stories, poems, plays and other forms of literature out loud. When a member of the Theater Nerd Clique is called on to read, they are the most entertaining of all the students who read because they are taught to read with emotion, it’s all a part of the acting atmosphere.
