Morality vs. Immorality
Morals... As a common human factor of values and virtues that God created us and shaped us with. All of humanity kinds acknowledge in these values and virtues. It is commonly agreed and there is a special philosophy for these moral values in each nation, era, heritage and culture. Honesty, generosity, sincerity, patience and forgiveness are all good moral values in human virtues. On the other hand, lying, injustice and stinginess... etc are dispraised values. The prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said:" Each infant is born on nature." This means that each individual on this earth is born with a moral constitution. Moreover, all of the celestial religions came to praise these natural morals and to insure the common values between mankind, and to warn them from leaving these values to their own moral code. In this concept we can understand the Prophet Mohammad's saying:" I was sent to complete the good morals." Obviously, this means that good morals exist in nature and the Prophet came to complete them. It completes the natural morals in mankind with the acquired religious morals.
A recent report in Psychology today concluded:" the most significant predictor of a person's moral behavior may be religious commitment. People who consider themselves very religious were least likely to report deceiving their friends, having extramarital affairs, cheating on their expenses accounts, or even parking illegally." Based on this report, what we believe has a decided effect on our moral thinking and our behavior.
