It is in every movie we watch, every television show that we tune into, as well as the accompaniment to our drives to our destinations. Music is a way of life, which has withstood the test of time. In today’s world we have experienced some of the greatest compositions that have or will ever be written. Everything resulting from classical music, inspiring other eras of music such as Baroque, Romantic and Jazz, to these types of music inspiring music genres that we listen to daily, music is simply the theme song to life, with a very versatile palate to fit every desire. Classical music originated in young Rome. Classical music was first the music selection for religious affiliations and went on to be the music choice throughout Roman Catholic Churches from the early 12th century to the 14th century. Towards the end of the 14th century to the new coming if the 15th century, classical music started to become a source of entertainment as composers began to write more scores and more people were learning to play instruments. Early musicians during this time were influential in creating the type of rhythmic passages needed to take classical music to new heights. The biggest change noted during the classical Era was the switch from mono-harmonious melodic phrases to poly-harmonic melodic phrase. This switch transcended classical music from the past time to music of today as well as being one of the key components to how classical music has such a huge impact on its listeners. The Romantic era helped to establish Country music. The Romantic era was the most popular and preferred genre of music because it focused on the melodies and the ballads. While still having the ability to cross over and offer beats, rhythms and harmony, just like today’s Country music is used in a variety of ways, as it is the only genre of music to ever cross over to every other genre with its subcategories.
