The metaphor, “after a hurricane comes a rainbow” is comparing the positive and negative aspects of nature to the outcomes of life. After enduring the hardships faced in our lives there will be a sense of comfort and calmness similar to what is felt when viewing fireworks light up the sky. When the storm is over we will have become more powerful and rise to the top. This then leads us into the next metaphor, “maybe you’re the reason all the doors are closed / so you can open one that leads you to the perfect road” (AZ Lyrics). This is comparing life and roads to one another. The rhetor is trying to influence the audience to believe that when some things do not work out as intended, there will always be other options that will lead you to bigger and better
