I will explain why it is possible this would have helped my organization overcome disabilities and problems. On a football team there is always some form of a problem. To overcome problems you have to find ways. In “The Fifth Discipline” Senge describes things that will better an organization or make a organization worst. He comes with The Seven learning disabilities 1. “I AM my Position” 2. “The Enemy is out there”, 3. “The Illusion of taking charge”, 4. “The Fixation of events” 5.“The Parable of the Boiled frog”, 6. The Delusion of Learning from Experience “, 7. The Myth of the Management team”. He goes into detail what they are and different strategies that can be used by them. Even though the player on the team is feeling held back his responsibility is limited because each player has a responsibility they can only control and when each player fulfills there responsibility than the team will be successful. The second disability that I will use is “The Enemy is out there”. I can also relate this to a college football team. The example Senge gave was the story of the boy who kept dropping balls. Within this example it talks about how when someone basically fails at something they want to blame someone or something else (Senge 19). In a organization there is a commandment that states “ Thou shalt always find an external agent to blame” (Senge 18). Senge also gives other examples like how Marketing blames manufacturing. Manufacturing blames engineering. Basically everyone blames someone else , instead of blaming themselves. On a football team which is a organization it has a similar commandment. When a team loses the media asks players and coaches what caused your team to lose?. Players and coaches usually have many reasons. Some of the reasons are things like Penalties, Refs, and etc.
