When I visit the school library and borrow this book I approached it like most students do when they have a book report to write. I liked the idea of reading this book to know what would make the difference between this book and the movie. When I started the first chapter about the arrival of E.T and their friends to earth, I realized that the book was excessively accessible to read it, at first I didn’t like idea, but I got to used, because the most crucial characteristic of the books was to read the book not to looks the details of difficulty or simplicity of it. The point of this is that the book was very enjoyable and informative. I found the book to be very well thought out and well

In conclusion, the latest film ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ (2014) has advanced in motion picture (CGI), which made the film more realistic and fitted into pop culture. It also captured audience’s eyes in some scenes and brought to light modern society conditions relating to human corruptions. The original ‘Planet of the Apes’ (1968) script structure was not creditable and lost interest throughout the storyline, such as visual effects (CGI) and lack of performance, which lead to a parody genre film rather then being a serious science fiction genre film. There were also some unneeded characters and other storytelling methods to present the narrative because it bored the audience and made it more of a Mockumentary. The twist conflict at the…

It is from the countries of Peru, Colombia, and Spain. The film was played in Spanish with English subtitles. This is one of the only films that I have watched where the cast is mostly all Latino, not white, unlike other movies that would be considered popular in today’s generation.…

I could see girl's enjoying their stories and picking up real life geographical, historical, cultural and even psychological insight along the way, as many of the books we read were based off true journey stories. Bone Gap by Laura Ruby is a fantasy book about perspective. A main topic in the book is the difference between looking and seeing. It includes imagery of fantasy, different views of self-image, and the heavy burden that beauty can be and the detrimental ways we look at and treat women. It can be dreadfully tense and there is this feeling of anxiety that runs throughout the novel. The book is romantic when it needed, empowering where it counts, and is simply beautiful in its telling.…

Picture books have been around for a long time. They have been read by many generations as a source of pleasure reading and to tap into their imagination. In these books, the writers and illustrator include various language, narrative and visual conventions to appeal to the reader and make them read with a deeper analytical eye to find the intended meaning. While some picture books are simple and the meaning is straightforward others are more complex and metaphorical. An example of such a picture book is Gary Crew and Steven Woolman’s…

Just like learning to walk or ride a bike, learning to read is one of life’s milestones. However, unlike walking and biking, reading skills are not suddenly obtained and then static throughout life. After learning to read initially, an individual’s reading skills, interests, and purposes further develop and change throughout their life. Furthermore, the means by which an individual improves their reading capabilities change over time as well. In the same way, I initially improved my reading ability and changed my interests through the help of my parents, then later my teachers, and finally, in spite of a dark period of little improvement, through my own effort.…
