My amazing trip to Falls Creek.

My essay is about my awesome trip to Falls Creek, it will be about the long bus rides, the camp and the activities we played, and the worship. It was an awesome experience to go there with my church, spending lots of time with my friends, and getting more educated about God.

The long bus rides The scenery was the best part, it was a five or six hour bus ride so it was far out. There were huge hills that looked like mountains and you drove in it on a bus, it was pretty scary it was this skinny windey road going through this hill. It was so pretty to look at all the hill tops in the distance looked like mountains, all the trees, and the plains. It was out in the country so all you could see were grass, trees, farms, and crops. One part we were driving and it was on the side if the hill and you could just look over at everything as far as you could see and it was amazing to look at, it was pretty scary to

After breakfast we would grab our bibles, notebooks, and student hand guides and head over to the huge worship building. Once you get there you have to go through security and they would check all your bags before you go inside. When you get inside all the churches have signs so we would find our sign and go sit down. They would play/sing music live and it's really awesome to hear that music playing and everyone singing and lifting their hand, it's just awesome. For about half the week we had this one speaker whose short and really funny and he teaches really well. The last half of the week we had a different speaker, he wasn't as funny but he was really good also. They talked and preached about things, and it was Falls Creeks 100th anniversary so they made tv shows and comic books about it and it was really cool and the story of them was really interesting, i also got an 100th anniversary shirt. The worship overall was really good, i learned a

Over summer I went with some friends to the Johnson Shut-ins in Missouri. It was the first time I went camping in years and it was one of the coolest trips I’ve ever been on. It started with the drive which was about two and a half hours through isolated roads which eventually got kind of creepy because we were in the middle of nowhere, every house had confederate flags posted, and we were running out of gas. We finally found the place and found our campground and we wanted to find out what the shut-ins were exactly. It was on the other side of the campground…

The night before, Confederate soldiers command Union soldiers to board a train at dusk. The next morning five hundred Union prisoners get on a train with absolutely no room. They stand for five days, which is exhausting, but is doable for the soldiers who think they are going home. There is excitement because they think there will be an exchange of soldiers between the North and the South. I cannot imagine the feeling when this reality is taken away from them.…

My personal narrative essay is about my transfer from Bible Baptist to Savannah Christian and my feelings towards the process of transferring and the first day at Savannah Christian. Overall the transfer was better than I presumed it would be because I sustained a better education than I did at Bible Baptist. The transfer taught me that sometimes change is for the greater good. If I had the ability to go back in time and tell my future self-something about this situation it would be not to be nervous just breathe. Finding out I was going to a new school could be compared to when I found out my first fish had died, heartbreaking.…

I sat on a rock watching a group of elementary school kids explore the natural world. They looked at fish, hopped on rocks and followed bugs to their hearts’ content. We were about a mile from our cabin, at the end of Christopher Creek before it went under the road. As a junior counselor, I probably went way out of my jurisdiction in taking my four campers on such a long trip down the creek, but their enjoyment was worth the potential trouble. I couldn’t believe it; none of them had ever taken a trip down a creek.…

The next morning, Mercy surprised Surina by joining her for breakfast on the sunny terrace in the backyard of her cottage. They enjoyed the leisurely meal to the sound of honey bees buzzing around an assortment of flowers in full bloom lining the edges of the garden. Indeed, the fragrance of the rhododendrons, chrysanthemums, foxgloves, roses, and lilies of the valley intermingled to create a unique heavenly perfume. In the past, Surina’s kinetic pace never allowed her enough time for breakfast other than a hasty granola bar before frantically rushing off to the hospital. In contrast, today she luxuriated in a proper full English breakfast.…

It was a definite change of scenery to be immersed in nature with lush greenery, crisp air, and ocean views instead of the normal classroom scene. I liked that this experience was a chance to interact with my colleagues and learn who they are on a personal level subsequent to grading their three-minute stories the previous Fridays. From this hiking experience, I learned the value of teamwork, effective communication, and what encompasses wholesome leadership as well as what can transpire when there is no leadership. As like all experiences, there are some parts I cherished and others not as much.…
