Dear Diary, June 1590 That damned moor! I absolutely despise him! I was the man to be lieutenant! Three noblemen asked the moor to make me his lieutenant, yet he refuses it? I cannot believe this. And whom does he make lieutenant instead of a fitting man like me? Antonio Cassio! Antonio Cassio as the lieutenant of Othello! Cassio is a man who knows nothing about battle, only the theories. I have followed the orders of the moor without question and have been loyal to him. Yet the moor decides to betray me like this? This is truly an outrage. Roderigo knows about my hatred towards the moor. I asked him ‘Whether I in any just term am affined to love the moor.’ He answered ‘I would not follow him then.’ Even the unwise Roderigo agrees with me! He may be a fool blinded by love, but I am glad that he has agreed with me. We seem to have a mutual hate for the moor. I despise for not giving me a promotion and Roderigo despises the moor for stealing away his unrequited love, …show more content…
Curses, my plan was not perfect and led me to this horrible fate. I should have been more careful. It is all because of that wretched whore Emilia. She may have been my wife, but useless. Betraying me like that at the end? I should have killed that woman before she spilled out any words. That is my only regret I have. I have never ended up here she had just shut her mouth. My situation right now may be hell, but I am still satisfied with destroying the moor. Yes, the moor. I am glad that I was able to witness his demise. It was truly a show, watching the moor stab himself. The moor must have lost the world, knowing that he choked his own innocent wife to death. The death of the moor was pleasant yet I a am dissatisfied that I did not get to see Cassio’s fall. Bloody Hell! Even if I die in agony, I will not forget to curse Cassio. I will despise him to the very end. Even in the depths of hell I will curse
