Guns require bullets, which a person can quickly run out of. Baseball bats, large sticks or clubs, or even sharp, pointy objects can all be used to protect a person who is being attacked from a home intruder. If there has been recent threats of break-ins in the area that you live in, then it might also be important for a person with a club or sharp object to stand guard at night as a watch-out. 3. Bells and Whistles
Intruders need the element of surprise to be able to successfully steal from their victims. But they won 't have a chance if you have a simple security system made from bells and whistles. String up bells on door handles and windows. Also, be sure to make a barrier that they can 't cross through without making noise. Each person should wear a whistle around their neck that they can blow in case they need help too.
4. Safe Room
At night, all people in the house should sleep in the same room if possible. It is easier to guard one room than it is several different ones. The room should have a door with a deadbolt to it and no windows. A supply of food, water, and toiletry supplies should be kept in this safe room in case it is necessary to stay in there for several
