America is the most powerful country in the world with the clear best Democracy and the fact that someone born in 384 BCE could influence it at all is ridiculous. For someone to have any impact at all on Americas government is ridiculous but to do it two thousand years before it was made? That almost sounds impossible! Aristotle doesn’t get enough credit for all of the things he’s done not only for the greatest country in the world, America, but for six of the seven continents. In the field of astronomy, Aristotle tried his hardest to prove to people that the earth was in fact a circle, unlike many people of his time period who were convinced it was a square. He proved this during a lunar eclipse when the moon passed in front of the sun and they were both spherical. He also made the conclusion that mars was higher up in the “heavens” or atmosphere than the moon. While these may seem like mediocre observations to us, they were very remarkable for his time period. In the field of geology, Aristotle had once observed seashell fossils on the bank of a river, and later came up with the conclusion that fossils were, at one point in time, living creatures. One of Aristotle’s other major accomplishments came with teaching Alexander the Great. Many historians, present day philosophers, and common folk consider Alexander the Great to be one of the greatest military leaders and tacticians of all time. I’m not by any stretch of the word saying this wouldn’t have happened without Aristotle, because there were other very smart individuals in his day, but I do not think he would have been more successful with some regular old philosopher than he was with Aristotle. Alexander the Great also helped Aristotle a great deal by getting his name out into parts of the world where Aristotle would of never traveled, creating people from far, far away to come to
