Revolutionary BioBoard Reflection The bio board was an assignment for world history and the unit was revolutions. The main purpose of the bio board was to get the students familiar with how to do an infographic and learn about a revolutionary from their revolution of choice. The revolutionary I made an infographic about was Yasser Arafat, and he an important leader that participated in the Lebanese civil war. A big idea that connected to the assignment from world history is cause and effect. It connects because I was able to learn how Arafat was able to change things because his position of leadership, and how those changes had affected the war. And from English, the big idea that connected to the assignment is identity. The way the assignment …show more content…
The SHoMs that stood out most to me from the assignment was engaged and persist. I think it stood out the most because it was very difficult to create the infographic online, but I kept pushing myself to complete it and make it look amazing. And when I completed it, I went out to get the poster printed out in color and on nice paper to try and get extra points on grade for the assignment, and what this shows about me as a student is that I do extra to try and get a better grade. And the poster also shows my strengths on the computer, and how I’m able to create something nice digitally. I thought the quality of the poster was very good. I was very proud of myself on the turn out of it, and there’s nothing I would change about it. The SHoM I think I expanded greatly in is developed craft. I think this because I learned how to use the computer to make an amazing poster, whereas in the past me probably wouldn’t have been able to make a poster this good. Things I will be taking away academically from this assignment is how infographics are made and done correctly and personally, is that I can create anything if I tried and put the effort in it, and this all benefits me …show more content…
One big idea that we learned in world literature that I think connects the most to the assignment is identity. I think this connects to the assignment because in the essay I connected all the symbols and themes to Amir, and how these things affected his identity and others because of it throughout the book. And from world literature, the big idea the assignment connects to is understanding symbols and theme. It connects to be the assignment was about identifying themes and symbols within the book and explaining how it connects to the story. What I learned from this assignment is how to identify symbols within a story and how they show importance within it. What I really liked about the assignment was that I got to identify symbols, and I find it really amusing trying to find out how they connect to the story. The SHoM I though that stood out the most in the assignment was observation. I think this one stood out the most because the I had to look very carefully through the book and find the important symbols and themes. Wat this assignment shows about me as a student is that I put a lot of trying to make everything fit together, make sense, and be perfect to get the best grade

I have chosen Question One: Emile Bronte’s Wuthering Heights discuss how an attention to figurative language can help in an analysis of literary texts as I enjoyed reading the text and the many qualities that made it such an enjoyable read. When we read something we usually take it as it is but that is exactly what figurative language is not. When we read certain expressions or words with a different meaning it is known as figurative language which is different from literal interpretation. Figurative language goes beyond the meanings of the words that we read which give us, the readers a greater insight into the piece. There are many types of figurative language such as symbolism, metaphors and similes which are all seen in Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering…

(9)Night made me realize many things I did not know about what had really happened in the Holocaust. The book showed the terrible things Germans did to the Jews during the time of Hitler's Reign of Terror around the world. It also showed the good things that he did such as feed and keep the Jews clothed and how he slowly, not quickly, moved them from their homes. (8)The book also made me think about everything that happened during the Holocaust to both the Jews and others. (1)The book changed my mind, too.…

I chose the "Now We Can Begin": What's Next? essay written by Crystal Eastman. The purpose of this essay was for the author to write about women’s freedom and show how women were not treated as equals when compared to men. I believe the thesis statement in this article was, “Now they can say what they are really after; and what they are after, in common with all the rest of the struggling world, is freedom” (Eastman). Lay out the structure of the reading to the class, and let the class know if this structure is organized and logical (you may claim that it is not organized – it’s up to you).…

When first receiving the rubric for The Woman Warrior writing assignment, I was appalled. Not that the book didn’t peek my interest and prove fascinating. I just loathed the idea. This book to me is a giant metaphor wrapped in metaphorical bacon.
