Benefit Of Silence Essay

Register to read the introduction… The tongue is an organ which can lead a person to heaven or it can lead a person to the hell fire. If the tongue is engaged in the remembrance of the Lord the n it will benefit you, but if the tongue is engaged in idle talk then it will destroy you.

Even when Syedah Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) feared that if she returned to her village people will accuse her because she was not married. Allah (swt) commanded her:

“So eat and drink and cool (your) eyes (with the sight of your lovely baby). Then if you see any man say (to him by gestures): ‘I have vowed a fast (of silence) to the Most Gracious (Lord), so I shall not talk to any human being today”

Sawm means here to refrain from speaking. Al-Imsaak anil kalam
From the above verse we can derive that if anyone intends special Divine blessings the one should adopt silence for the sake of Allah. One should remember that three things do not break silence, they are as follows: 1. Remembrance of Allah 2. Teaching 3. Necessity in talking for the sake of din
This is the sole reason why Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him) said:

They are as follows:

* Controlling ones Tongue (i.e. remaining silent) * Keeping to your house (i.e. Secluding oneself, unnecessary intermingling) * Weeping for your sins (i.e. Continuously repenting)

If an individual can adopt the above mentioned qualities he will succeed in this life as well as the life hereafter.
If the tongue remains under control and obedience of Almighty Allah then all other parts of the body will remain in the obedience of Almighty Allah. In other words the obedience of other organs is dependent upon the obedience of the tongue. This concept is beautifully elaborated in the tradition reported by Abu Saeed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) where he said: “The Prophet (peace be upon Him) said,

“When the son of Adam gets up in the morning, all the limbs humble themselves before the tongue and say: ‘Fear Allah for our sake because we are with you. If you remain straight, we will be straight; and if you are crooked, we will become

    2. In the early 1600s, William Bradford, a Puritan pilgrim from England, wrote a journal [Sovereignty and the], recording all his experiences regarding his pilgrimage. When this text was written, the Church of England had started to persecute all those who did not follow their religion, which included the Puritans, who had to move to Leiden, Holland. After a few years, a war broke out in that area, so the Pilgrims were forced to move somewhere else, in which they chose the present-day East Coast of North America. In the quote shown, William Bradford gratefully comments on how the pilgrims survived obstacles through their journey to the New World, in order to provide his religious insight on how God helped them out in times of need.…

Jealousy comes when one's focus is taken off God and put upon the world. Hebrews 13:4 states “but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” God's Word also states in I Corinthians 3:17 “if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.” The purity of mankind should be maintained, therefore the jealous husband was to bring her before the priest who would carry out all the law. Devils love the destruction of relations between a man and his wife.…

Does Descartes, working from the inside out, “escape subjectivism”? Very simply, he does not. Consciousness is known as “the hard problem” of philosophy—neurology might tell us something of the mechanics of how we experience qualia, how we process phenomena, but it says very little of why. For example, it’s really quite simple to answer how we know a sour taste from a sweet taste—the physical reaction to sour foods, like lemons or spoiled milk, has much to do with an early genetic mutation that selected for an expansive autonomic reaction to alkaloids, which are more often than not quite poisonous.1 The actual step-action sequence of events involved with the pucker and gag reflex are likewise expressible in terms of anatomical movement.…

Intersectionality is “the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage” (Dictionary.com). Throughout this course so far, we’ve read various essays from a number of authors, each offering different viewpoints of intersectionality experienced by various groups of people and using that in order to get their points across. Of course, you cannot have an analytical discussion without having relevant evidence to back up your arguments. In order for their essays to be considered reliable, they had to obtain their information from heterogeneous sources, which built up their arguments and furthered their points. I’ve chosen a few…

In the passage, “From Silence to Words: Writing as Struggle” by Min-Zhan Lu the author informs the reader about her childhood growing up in China during the revolution. She expresses the multitude of problems that come up while she tries to balance learning English at home and Chinese in the classroom. Growing up with these two different lives, the author dignifies that learning two different methods of interpreting literature left her with conflicting perspectives. In this essay I am going to argue how the Puritans were selfish. They were selfish because they cared about themselves only and wanted to be best known of what they are. For example in Document B the author states “The eyes of all people are upon us” it explains how they only cared about how people’s eyes were only apon them. Puritans wanted to improve and become bigger people so everyone could see their improvement in being creative.…
