Up till today, I still remember the story my mother told me about an incidence that happened to me as a child which unknowingly to her helped me make the decision to be a pharmacist as early as in my elementary years. According to my mother, when I was about two years I swallowed valium tablets that I found lying around in the house. I started acting Irrationally, laughing uncontrollably and not able to sleep this landed me in the emergency room once they discovered what I had done.
Somehow this story stuck to my brain and I could not but wonder “the magic” behind those medicines that made me act so weird at such a young age that terrified my parents. After hearing this story and knowing that there is a career I can pursue to cure my curiosity I began to consider a career in pharmacy even while I was in my high school where I took science courses as requirements for

It required more from me, I Wrote and passed four exams including equivalence exams, TOEFL, Naplex and MPJE. In addition I did 1560 intern hours in a retail setting where I was thoroughly immersed into pharmacy practice here in the USA. Eventually I got my license and I secured my current job.
Needless to say I am happy and excited about being able to achieve my dreams to this extent.
However, to continue to grow and possibly achieve the zenith of my career, obtaining a Pharm D is a necessary step for me.
Over time, pharmacists have been given expanded clinical roles and hence the introduction of Pharm D which encompasses hands-on clinical experience in a wider array of healthcare settings with a greater emphasis on clinical pharmacy practice pertaining to pharmacotherapy optimization. Hence I believe that the transition to Pharmd D is one of the best things that have happened to the pharmacy industry. Patients are now entrusted with more technically competent pharmacists contribute mote to improved healthcare
