Art is one of the oldest kinds of creativity in the world, yet can be defined as many different terms. Art is not only about painting on canvas or drawing on a piece of paper. When people think of art, most of the time they think of paintings, but its more than just pigment. Many people misunderstand the meaning of art. Art is not only about paintings or a talent; there is more to it. There are different branches of the arts such as visual art, music, literature, and dance. Although, if one were to ask an educated person about what the definition of art is. They might know the right meaning because, they might have learned about it in college. Literature, such as writing a book, is also art. Now, why is literature an art? For one thing, it’s a creation by a human being. Also, the person, who is the author, is using their expression and imagination when they write. When one writes a book, they are expressing their feelings in the writing and using their imagination as well. For example, if a someone who writes a short story that is fiction, the writer will construct the story in his/her head. Similarly, if an author is writing a story that is nonfiction, then the writer will use some expression towards the story. The writer might also exaggerate their expression in certain parts of the writing to emphasize more of the story and make the reader get lost in their story.
