The first day of English 11 who knew that it would go by so fast. When we first came into the classroom I knew exactly how it was going to be in here. We would be reading alot and writing just as much but who knew that we would spend so much time preparing for the sat. I 'm glad we took as much time as we did on the sat because I feel like all of the preparation helped me on the test and I 'm sure I am not the only person who thinks that way. Who knew that being in this class of all classes that I would learn about life in general and what college is going to be like. I’ve done alot of reading in this class considering we did SSR at least 4 times a week or all of the writing we did we had a handful of papers to write not including the 5 pages …show more content…
Some of the lessons I learned from watching Hamlet is that holding a grudge and wanting revenge on someone is not always the best option. In the movie Hamlet wants revenge on his Uncle because his Uncle Claudius because he killed Hamlet 's father. Yeah that 's a really bad thing to do but in the end of the play Hamlet gets his revenge but he pays the price to because the girl he loved died, his mother died, and Hamlet himself died all because he had so much anger towards his Uncle because he killed his Father. I think Shakespeare wanted his audience to get out of the play is that getting revenge is not always the best answer because even your closest family and loved ones could get hurt by the actions of you and others that you enlisted into getting your revenge. One thing that I took from this play is that growing up is big thing you will end of growing up into whatever you want and I really do believe that after watching this play and that it has made me become more organized about my school work and other things like work and school and how to balance my time for

The major reason for Hamlet resorting to committing revenge was because the prince was a man dealing with an impossible situation as he attempted to please the ghost of his father after discovering his unnatural death. Although Hamlet’s is starting to show signs that he is emotionally struggling, he has proven that for somebody dealing with the idea of grief he is actually a very sane man after openly admitting to Horatio his plans to reveal the truth of his uncle’s murder at the play. “Watch him with the eyes of your soul. I tell you this, Horatio, the ghost who visited me on that dreadful night brought me a story which may have come from the devil… you must think the unthinkable, old friend.” – (Page 83).…

Dean Koontz once said that “When a liar became too skilled at deception, he could lose the ability to discern truth, and could himself be more easily deceived”. There’s nothing but deception all around the world people are constantly being deceived if they like it or not. Citizens are being deceived by others, even by themselves and once one becomes a professional deception artist that individual won’t be able to decipher what is true and what’s plain lies. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare deception is one of the major themes. Characters in this play are constantly trying to make someone believe something that isn’t true in order to gain some sort of personal advantage.…

Hamlet’s “guise of false madness” (222) is what started the downward spiral that ended in the death of many characters in the play. Levy begins his conclusion with this statement, “Hamlet's conceptual development concern not who he thinks he is, but how his thought reconceptualizes the function of thinking” (231). Eric P. Levy’s analysis of Hamlet’s thoughts in conjunction with the question of the “complexity of "[w]hat is a man" (231), not only analyzes Hamlet as a character but also, in the end, evaluates the play as a whole and answers the question of what caused the death of Hamlet. In the critiques of “Hamlet” made by Andrew Hui, Eric P. Levy, and Alan L. Ackerman, a common thread connects all three: the mind.…

One’s actions are proven to be more powerful than the words they say, as it is comes naturally for people to speak without reasoning. People’s actions display how they truly behave towards what they believe in towards what they say, as their actions back up and defend their words. If a person does not do as they say, then he or she is overlooked in society and is not trusted upon. As the author Dr. DaShanne Stokes said ‘“If your actions don’t live up to your words, you have nothing to say”’ (GoodReads). Actions will always define a person’s credibility and determine whether or not that person is actually truthful and honest.…

The People in Shakespeare’s Plays There is much to learn from the common people in Shakespeare’s works. Although they play even smaller parts than the supporting cast, their contributions are essential to the story. These nameless characters are Hamlet’s gravedigger, Macbeth’s wounded captain, The Merry Wives of Windsor’s Host of the Garter Inn, King Lear’s voiceless woman, The Tempest’s Boatswain, and the Keeper of the Tower in Richard III. They may seem unimportant because they are not of noble or royal birth and are not central to the main plot, but without them we would miss critical information that the author wants to convey.…

Hamlet’s mother and father served many positive roles in the play of Hamlet .For example when his mother wiped the sweat off of his brow ,but in this essay we are going to talk about how Hamlet’s feelings for both his mother and father not only complicate but ultimately destroy his life. The first reason this is true is because if for example Hamlet’s father the ghost were not to have showed up and even told him about the way he died then many things would have been different. First Hamlet would have just lived his life normally as he did at the beginning of the book and probably would have married Ophelia and when the king Claudius died would have became king.…

er, then, that his rhetoric is now directly deployed against the very idea of fleshly union. " Have you a daughter?" he asks Polonius (II.ii.182), and goes on to draw Ophelia into his morbid train of thought, which has been about the sun's power to breed maggots in the dead flesh of a dog. " Let her not walk i'th' sun," he says, echoing his earlier statement, in the opening scene with Claudius, "I am too much in the sun" (I.ii.67). The echo hints that Ophelia is already in some sense Hamlet's double here: both are endangered by the sun which is an emblem of kingly power, and both are also endangered—though in significantly different ways—by…

Hamlet 's indecision and continuous delay of Claudius 's murder until the end is explained through several concepts of psychology, delving into his innermost thoughts which act as the driving forces behind his behavior, actions, and attitude towards other characters. From a psychological perspective, Hamlet’s lack of action towards his intended goal is not surprising, especially from a person who shows many symptoms of major depressive disorder including inactivity, thoughts of suicide, frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, agitation, anxiety, and hopelessness. Despite being dead set on getting revenge for his father after he met 'his ghost ' in act 1 scene 4, Hamlet soon began contemplating suicide in his ‘to be or not to be’ soliloquy…
