Are We Too Dependent On Computers?

The ENIAC was the first electronic general- purpose computer and was invented on February 15, 1946. From then to now, the computer has made tremendous advancements, and is our source for communicating, seeking answers, conducting research, playing games, etc. It is said that years from now, there will be a computer that will be smarter than the entire human race. Did Professor John Mauchly, the inventor of the ENIAC, believe that the computer will have such an impact on the society to this day? If the computer were to be taken away from us, what would we be without them? Some may say hopeless, and others believe that it may help us and the lives of children who suffer from obesity due to the technology

The technology that the computer is established from only advances as the Earth grows older. The human mind is becoming more advanced and requires a much more advanced mechanism that will help improve the knowledge of the common citizen. Books are becoming a thing of the past. Even mere fifth graders are beginning to use computers in the classrooms. The world is growing more advanced and it’s becoming impossible for our feeble minds to keep up with. The only way to keep up with the world today is to learn using the technology of the computer. The modern age of information can no longer be found from the pages of a book. This is what is causing a major influence on the increase of dependency for computers. But our dependency isn’t a bad thing though, because many jobs require the aid of the …show more content…
Are we too dependent? The answer to that question, is no, we are just trying to keep up with the world as technology advances all around us. We can no longer seek our answers from the pages of a book, because books will not be written about the results from a few tests that scientists have recently performed. Information like that can be found using the internet. It is clear that our society will fall without the aid of computers. More students will flunk out of school, fewer jobs will be available, companies won’t run smoothly, and will become more unorganized.
