When steroids are used they inhibit the use of natural testosterone in your body. When using steroids it sends a hormone signal to your body telling it to stop producing natural testosterone and start using the steroid as testosterone. This can send many problems to your body. Many times you see an unnatural looking body where muscles are exaggerated to abnormal size. Steroids tend to lower your HDL cholesterol which is good cholesterol for you and higher your LDL cholesterol which is bad cholesterol. This in the end causes high cholesterol because it raises your LDL and takes away the good cholesterol for you. One of the most talked about side effects of steroids is Gynocomastia. This is where the testosterone in your body is turned into estrogen. This can attach the estrogen to your breasts and actually increase female like breast tissue. It is also common for your testicles to shrink. This is called Atrophy. This is common for steroid users who do not have a counter drug to reduce this. There are many side effects when in comes to steroids and the list goes on. Steroids can also increase acne due to an increase in the acting of pores due to the testosterone therapy. An overdose in testosterone can also produce what we know as roid rage which is common among steroid users. Steroids can also produce balding in male’s stunt growth and cause high blood pressure.
