I can remember the first time my mom told me that everything happens for a reason, I was very young at the time, I know this because I was taking a bath with my two younger brothers when she got a call saying my great grandpa had passed away. My brothers and I were obviously very confused with the situation, we had a lot of questions, that is when she rubbed my head, told me not to worry, that everything happens for a reason and it would be okay. I think because this was such a sad time, and I felt that I couldn’t talk to anyone because everyone was mourning

I could have chosen many different ways to deal with my problems. I could have gotten into trouble, turned to drugs, or even tried to blame them on others, but instead, I decided to look at the bright side. Every situation, no matter what it is, has a point of view that makes it understandable. For example, my brother’s sickness, I believe that this situation happened to strengthen my family’s bond and help us learn to depend on each other more. I can proudly say my family keeps getting more and more close knit, we are each other’s best …show more content…
Their family might have had nothing and although it was one hundred percent wrong to steal, at least hopefully that family would be able to eat that night. My positive look on life has a lot to do with that one phrase, “Everything happens for a reason”. Even when some of my cousins had passed away as babies and I remember being sad but still using that phrase to help me cope. I would tell myself that had to happen so that something greater could come from it. I still feel this way, if that didn’t happen who knows what kind of life they would be living right now and what they would have to deal

However this wasn’t the last of my sufferings, but was only a setback that I made into motivation. As time went by my father had gotten into a devastating accident that left him disabled for life. From that day until now it has been difficult for me to see him in pain knowing that his body and brain can’t function or for him to be normal. Then one day while attending school, I got a call from my uncle, his voice cracking and saying my mom was undergoing surgery and facing multiple comas with a high chance of death. Being haunted by poverty and family struggles that distracted me from school work, I had one objective in life, and that was to educate myself and help my family, myself, and others like me who need…

A Thousand Experiences Throughout life, individuals face different obstacles and struggles; my obstacle was my tendency to be shy. For example, when I was faced with social pressures like speaking in front of a class for a presentation, or meeting new people, I would be a nervous wreck. My palms would sweat, my voice would tremble, and it took all the strength I could muster to overcome my irrational fears. I only had a small, albeit close knit group of friends due to my introverted ways.…

“What did you learn today?” Coming home from my first day of preschool, I recall my parents asking me that renowned question. I cannot, however, recall what I said to them or anything I learned that day. More than eleven years later, I could organize a list to explain each subject, every topic we covered that day, and all of the information that I memorized, but this ordinary explanation would not include everything that I learned. Having a standard public school education, I look back on my years of experience with this system and acknowledge that it has shaped me to be someone who is more accepting, understanding, and down-to-earth simply by exposing me to so many people who each contain a lifetime of stories.…
