Strengths
The company’s products are technically savvy, stable and easy to use. The recent integration with Intel processors and Microsoft product lines demonstrate the organisations willingness and ability to adapt to a larger and more diverse customer base (Apple Computer Inc, 2011, p 2).
The company’s technical strengths are safeguarded by a highly secretive culture, carefully chosen employees and an atmosphere of learning and innovation (Word Press, 2010, p 3).
Apple has, with the introduction of the I Pod, I Tunes, I Phone and I Pad, opened fresh market segments that have strong growth potential.
The company engages in very aggressive advertising and reinforcement of brand and brand loyalty. The Apple brand is one of the most powerful brands in the market and is associated with style, design, user friendliness and value for money, despite high product prices (Robinbloor, 2010, p 2).
Apple has a strong team of employees who are carefully chosen, paid well, trained intensively, and supervised strictly. Whilst the organisation is hierarchical in structure, constant efforts are made to foster an atmosphere of experimentation and

The strategic choices call for the implementation of a system for recognising and nurturing appropriate leadership, strongly entering the huge Chinese and Indian markets, strengthening distribution, improving innovative skills and making better use of strong cash reserves.
The suggestions made on implementing systems for leadership are in consonance with the needs of the company and will lead to enhancement of competitive advantage. The recommendation to enter important emerging markets satisfies criteria for suitability, feasibility and acceptability and will lead to significant increases in sales, profitability and competitive advantage. Strengthening of distribution through opening of more retail stores meets all criteria, especially customer perspective.
The strategic choices by and large meet the various evaluation norms, other than business process and learning and growth perspectives. Suggestions have not been made in this area considering the inherent strengths of Apple in the area of logistics and intensive training of employees.
