“Nobody told me it was going to be this cold” I thought to myself. Consequently, we picked up our luggages and waited for my uncle to drive us to Philadelphia. Luckily, when he arrived, he had coats for all of us. I fell asleep the entire ride to Philly, hoping that when I woke back up I would be back in Freetown. Instead, I woke up to my new home in the Wyoming section of Philadelphia. When we arrived, it was about 9pm so we got situated, ate and went to bed. The next morning when I woke up, one of my sisters, uncle and I headed to the neighborhood school down the street to get us enrolled. Subsequently, the following week we began school, my sister was placed in the 7th grade and I was placed in the 3rd grade. Whenever, I went to school, I barely spoke because at the time, although I knew how to speak proper English I had an accent. The following summer, I moved from Olney to the northeast. I personally liked the northeast better than Olney because the neighborhood was less tense and I was more at peace mentally and emotionally. This affected my 7th and 8th grade year, causing them to go smoothly. I’m glad that they did because those are the two most important years when it comes to applying to high school. I applied to 20 various high schools all across the city, including Cristo Rey, I weighed all of my options down and narrowed down Imhotep and CRPHS. I ended up choosing Cristo Rey because it was more appealing to me compared to the other school. Indeed, when I began freshmen boot camp on August 11, 2014 I realized that I had made the right decision.All of my years of moving school to school, I never felt so safe and at home at any other school. Therefore, I decided to stay at Cristo Rey up till this point. Hence, here I am a sophomore at Cristo Rey and also a cracked eggshell. All of the trials and tribulations shaped me into the young lady I am today. Similar to all of the transitions I’ve made in the past , I am going to transition into all of the tasks set forth in front of me this upcoming school
