The life of a teenager is packed full of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities. All teenagers like to go out with their friends and spend money. Most of these students will windup asking their parents for money. That is not the case for teenagers that have a job. Having a job as a teenager will bring plenty of benefits such as hard earned money, it will help build a persons character, and it will teach them to establish a positive work ethic. An important benefit of having a job as a teenager, is that it will build a positive character. Teenagers that have a job, are establishing a work ethic. Being a teen that has a job, they must use time management to the best of their ability. A job will help manage time between sports, school and for some a job. For example, the employer has given out two task, both are due at the same time. The first task is very difficult and time consuming, but the other is dependent of correctness with instructions. This is a great way to help understand time management, which is used everyday. Along with time management, the pursuit of excellence is a big factor in a work ethic. The pursuit of excellence is when we strive to work at the best level for success. An important trait teenagers should have is giving all your effort into each and every task. Time management and the pursuit of excellence will help establish reliability. Most teenagers have to ask their parents for money if they are wanting to go do something. Teenagers that have a job and earn their money, feel a sense of independence. There will be an age that mom and dad kick their kids out of the house. They do this to help build independence. To be independent, one will need a job. A job is the best way to bring in money. All teens struggle with saving. Teenagers work for their salary or paycheck, but it's important that they learn to budget money. If one doesn’t budget or save, at some point the money will run out. A job teaches one the best way to budget. With saving and learning how to become independent, a job teaches teenagers how the real world works. The first thing an employer is going to give a newly hired teen is a government tax form. When a teenager receives that first check they will see all the taxes and withholdings taken out.
