The Importance Of Tarrant County College

When people go to college you expect to have to do things on your own with little to no assistance, and that all the staff members will be a Grinch. Well I like to keep an open mind, and believe everyone, and every place is good. But I truly believe that Tarrant County College is a great school filled with faculty ready to help when they can, and good resources provided for every student when needed. During the Helpful survey, 10 percent of the students agreed that there was little to no assistance here at TCC. As for the other 90 percent of the students, they believe the TCC faculty has been very helpful and kind. Or really did not have an opinion, but I agree with the 90 percent that the TCC faculty has been helpful, caring, and …show more content…
There were several students who were still in high school in need of summer classes in order to get a head start in college. “I was thankful to be able to fit two classes after my day of high school. It made starting college easy.”(T. Newman). This was one of the replies I received in an interview, for the question “Did TCC provide easy scheduling to work around your priorities?” In addition to that response another student replied that “ TCC not only provided a flexible schedule around my work schedule, but also provided the classes I needed for my major”(Y. Alvarez). Another question from this interview was “Were professors cooperative with your schedule outside of class?” Most said yes, but several believe that it is mainly during the summer classes. But that still goes to show that the professors are understanding, and are willing to make something …show more content…
There are many other things that make TCC great, but just the resources and staff alone make TCC what it is. 90 percent of the students who participated in the Helpful Survey said they would recommend Tarrant County College to others who are looking for a great place to learn, and gain new experiences. Even if it is for one semester, TCC is a great school to attend. TCC’s mission statement is “Tarrant County College provides affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning.” They have definitely achieved that so far, especially according to Yesenia, who says that “TCC is a great community college to start your career” (Y.

I have always been independent, but I fully seeked independence when I was 16 years old. This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. In the year of 2016, I also began taking classes at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute to earn college credits.…

In the article “Will You Graduate?” by Joseph B. Treaster, he discusses issues of undergraduates not graduating on time. A coalition of multiple of Universities called the University Innovation Alliance (UIA) believe that introduction classes for majors do not determine if a student will be successful. However, they do believe that core classes such as Math, English, and History depending on the university will decide the success of a student. These schools have conducted this speculation with the collected data over the previous year with current and past students.…

According to Lascell, significant effort is needed from the leaders in order to make it all work. He also stated that help from the outsiders of the college community would be a huge help to Grove City College (Lascell). A little help and support from others is sometimes all it takes to help you continue on the road to success, and I believe that is exactly what the Grove City College community has been doing ever since. “GCC vs. Bell sent GCC on a new, clearer road to independance. It hasn’t been an easy road, but it has led to a unique place in higher education, one that allows the college to maintain its historic commitment to academic independence, the free market, individual liberty, and Christian truth” (Grove City…

TCU is great fit for me because it is a smaller university. I like how TCU has less than 9,000 undergraduates and has a 13 to 1 student to faculty ratio. This means students will get more individual attention. The city of Fort Worth seems to be a great college town and TCU has great school spirit, which both work well together to offer a great college experience. TCU is a great fit for me because it has an encouraging learning environment that will allow me to excel in my studies and grow as a…

Hi Hye Jin Sim, I have the same opinion with you. Learning Resource Center (LRC), which is one of the departments in Cypress College has a lot of benefits for students such as printers, computers, tutors, and more. Students who do not have computers can use computers in LRC whenever you want. In addition, students who study ESL or English can meet tutors in LRC for help. For example, I often meet ESL tutors for help to correct my essay.…

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

I believe TCU is a great fit because I think it is the perfect school for me to develop into a productive adult. It is a prestigious school that honors discipline and hard-work which I believe are two characteristics I can work on. The level of education is also held at a high standard and I believe I can become a part of that. The campus also seems to be very friendly and welcoming and appears to be a school I can adjust to. I like the fact that it is a small campus which allows more individual…

The last two years have been busy, as I have moved twice, resulting in my attendance to three separate high schools. This gives me first hand experience in many different types of schedules. In junior high, I had an A/B block type schedule, we had the same core classes everyday but our electives would alternate each day. Freshman year I had a 4x4 block schedule with 4 90 minute classes a day and classes were only a semester long (8 credits). Sophomore year I attended a school with trimesters, 5 70min classes per day, lasting 2 out of the 3 trimesters.…

High school is designed to prepare mature, young adults for college. Senior year, especially, may be the most difficult for students since their college years are approaching quickly. However, for most seniors, dual-enrollment is available during their high school years. Unfortunately, taking certain college classes while in high school could be very challenging. Since students are taking collegiate classes for the very first time, some may say that the students should receive a pass because they are dual-enrolled.…
