When you look back on pictures of your early childhood, you realize how much enjoyment you had in the past, playing the sport you loved. For me, it was playing softball ever since I was a little girl and watching my sister play ball and longing to be just like her. I remember the long Friday nights that I thought would never end because of practice or the early Saturday mornings waking up at six o’clock to be at the field ready for warm up for another full day of softball. Looking back on those times, I reminisce but do not regret any of those moments. It made me a better person inside and out; it allowed me to develop critical leadership abilities, communication skills, confidence and self-poise that still carry with me today.…

I truly enjoy all aspects of baseball. I started playing this sport at the very young age of four when I joined my first baseball team. I remember not being able to come close to hitting any ball pitched to me and practicing endlessly with a batting tee until I was able to finally do so. My love for baseball was also nurtured by the first major league game my father and I attended at the age of five, which was between the NY Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. From that point on I always associated trips to the ballpark as memorable outings in which I could always spend quality time with my family and friends.…

If one were to ask a young girl want she wants to be when she grows up, she would proudly say a princess, or maybe a rock star. I’ve never been the typical girl though and my answer was always different. Some days I wanted to be a dog trainer or a zookeeper and being a marine biologist wouldn’t be too bad. In middle school I realized what all these jobs had in common; animals. I knew whole heartedly that I wanted to work with them, to improve not only their health and welfare, but also that of the community they were in.…

It's better to take the risks to make life more fun in ways you can't think of. If we didn't take risks in life we wouldn’t have any fun and we wouldn't have any inventions and the world would be in stone age again, But we did take risks and now we are venturing into the future. I know that if we didn't take risks our world would be safer, but the people that took a risk made history like Thomas Edison who made the first light bulb. It is better to take risks and make mistakes because you can learn from your mistakes, you can achieve more, and you can learn about what you like and dislike.
