This is not strange by any means seeing as an increasing number of Americans are taking to social networking sites to complain about their problems, and many of the problems that many people have originate from their parents, bosses, teachers, and in this case in particular a principal. Although Hillary Transue’s actions of creating a mock Myspace page of her principal were by no means acceptable, they were not worthy of a three month jail sentence! One of the causes of this unusual sentencing is the fact that the judge she was appointed to, Judge Ciavarella, who was essentially on a private prisons payroll. Judge Ciavarella received payments to ensure that the beds in the juvenile detention centers were full, meaning that Hillary Transue’s case was by no means the exception to the unacceptable sentencings.
