As the war between Europe both the Entente powers (Britain, France, and Russia) and the Central Powers (Germany and Austria-Hungary) were in a secure alliance with Italy. Things got complicated for Italy when they noticed they were committed to two conflicting alliances. The first, with Germany and Austria- Hungary, which was known as the Triple Alliance of 1882 and this alliance was known publically; the second, with France, was a secret alliance. On the 2nd of August Italy formally announced a policy of neutrality with a straight forward reasoning. Her alliance with Germany and Austria- Hungary only provided military suppose in an event of a defensive war: whereas Austria- Hungary 's stance with regard to Serbia was clearly offensive. Not just did the war bring a colossal of monetary weight, it extended the political framework as far as possible and isolated the country. The war exertion had expended immense measures of modern merchandise. Italy needed raw materials, a vast residential business sector and a built up exchanging framework. These immense sums had been obtained from England and the USA – the national debt had expanded profoundly from sixteen billion liras in 1914 to eighty-five billion lira in 1919. In any case, these borrowings had demonstrated lacking to pay for the war and the administration had turned to printing cash. The worst effect World War 1 had on Italy in my opinion is how the soldiers that were coming back from war were put into this deteriorating economic situation. Veterans didn’t get any types of benefits for serving their countries, which makes me sick. The main reason most war veterans became homeless is they are unable to work because of Post- Traumatic stress Disorder, which is a menial health disorder when one, witnesses a life altering
