Pregnancy period is one of the wonderful phases of a woman's life. Each and every moment during this period is very precious for them. They spend each and every day in pleasant anticipation, waiting for a normal delivery. Pregnant women will face a lot of emotional issues, mainly due to hormonal changes. The category was introduced in September 2000 by the United States National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). The NCCIH defines mind-body interventions as the practices that "employ a variety of techniques, designed to facilitate the mind's capacity to influence bodily function and symptoms”. All mind-body interventions focus on the interaction between the brain, body, and behavior and are practiced with intention to use the mind to alter physical function and promote overall health and well-being. Meditation is a mental exercise to direct the mind to think inwardly by shutting the sense organs to external stimulations. It is a vedic exercise which can be used as a powerful instrument to restrain sense organs, control autonomic nervous system (Udupa, 1983). Current research shows meditation and ‘OM’ mantra can influence mental alertness (Dhar, 1977).
