School Influences In My Life

Register to read the introduction… For instance, school has allowed me to establish many work habits when it comes to individually working all by myself such as punctuality, prioritization, participation, initiative, independence, leadership, responsibility, preparedness, and organization. All of these characteristics have influenced me in the way that I have been able to complete homework and assignments to the best of my ability at home and during school, and this has ultimately causing my academic success. Also, school has influenced me in the way of the attitude of which I approach people such as teachers and peers. When it comes to teachers I am more respectful, appreciative, and consistent seeing as they are authoritative figures while I am more cooperative, open minded, accepting, and friendly towards my classmates seeing as they are people of which I will most likely have to deal with a lot in terms of group projects and everyday discussion. In a sense, school has enhanced my socialization skills. The school system has a hidden curriculum which has two sides to it. One of which being the fact that the environment of school has allowed me to be reliable, prepared, and organized while being able to set goals for myself and teach myself (using a textbook or online if I don’t grasp a concept). For instance, my mother is someone I have a great relationship with, she is my best friend. I look up to her greatly as she is my role model. I find that she is a very strong willed, nurturing, and independent woman who never gives up no matter what obstacles life throws it her. She is my inspiration and I love her dearly. My father and I are exceptionally close as we have a great relationship and we share our sense of humour. He has influenced me greatly in terms of being a hard worker and striving to accomplish what is in my reach. Also, my father is a truly selfless and generous man and for that I look up to him and hope that I can one day do the same. Me and my sister have a very good relationship despite the fact that we are constantly fighting. However, I appreciate the fact that she tends to not care what other people think and in that way she has influenced me to do the same. As a family, there have been morals and opinions that have become imbedded in our family. These morals include doing good for others without the expectation of getting something in return, and being respectful towards all and accepting their perspective. On the other hand, being Middle Eastern, my father dislikes George Bush greatly and due to his remarks and historical knowledge I have come to take on many of the opinions he has.
