Some say outsourcing is not right and needs to come to an end, but others disagree. In the long run outsourcing helps the American economy and gives people in less developed countries, also known as LDCs more job opportunities. Outsourcing affects the world around us, and it affects different countries and peoples differently. Outsourcing began between the 1950’s and 1960’s because businesses always wanted to know how to exploit their competitive advantage. The IT companies use outsourcing the most and there is a big tech company in Bangalore, India. This caused more job opportunities and helped improve the Indian economy. The people are now exposed to outsourcing because of the technology they are using. Outsourcing has both its advantages …show more content…
The number of job losses is increasing as outsourcing becomes popular. For example, “Some of the regions pegged for the steepest job losses are also among the most innovative as some low-skilled jobs move away, there’s scope for other jobs.” Therefore because businesses are leaving the area to be located overseas people become unemployed and as outsourcing becomes increasingly popular as more people are becoming unemployed in the MDCs. Also Pearlstein believes that in the long run outsourcing will not be the answer and there will be many people without jobs. He states, “Outsourcing can lead to long term structural unemployment in the U.S.” Moreover a lot of Americans will be out of jobs because all of the businesses will be located overseas. They work the same hours, sometimes maybe more with less pay and they do not get paid overtime. Research proved that outsourced workers get paid 15% less than the lowest paid workers on the union. Therefore they do the same work but are getting paid the amount that they do not deserve, they deserve more and it is unfair. Also businesses pay their workers who are just starting lower than what they deserve and they do the same job as the others and people say that is not right and they do not really explain things so the workers do not fully understand what they are getting into. Moreover they are being paid less because they do not know any better or they just need to work to provide for themselves and family. To conclude outsourced workers are paid unfairly and they are being used and it is not right.
Outsourcing is not a perfect idea for businesses but then again nothing is perfect. Outsourcing is creating jobs in LDCs but is increasing the number of unemployed people in MDCs. The government is trying to fix the problems with outsourcing by trying to create more jobs in MDCs as businesses move away. Outsourcing creates more opportunities for lesser developed countries and helps allows them to become innovative and can maybe in the future prevent brain drain because of all the things they will be exposed to due to

Although there are many positive reasons as to why companies have decided to start outsourcing certain jobs there are many negative results to this practice. A company that decides to outsource certain services runs a significant danger of exposing confidential information to other third-party companies; sensitive information such as payroll, internal services and intellectual property rights become accessible to foreign labor workers. This access to sensitive information runs a great danger since the employee overseas does not have to abide by the same laws that are applied back in the…

We may send a lot of our manufacturing jobs over seas because it is much cheaper to create a t-shirt or assembly electronics outside of the United States. But we are still the world’s third-largest exporter because America is still a great place to fabricate a large passenger plane, make refined machine tools or fabricate computer software (Levy and Scott 22). If America were to turn away from free trade and block the outsourcing of t-shirts and assembling electronics then other countries would stop buying American-made planes, tools and computer software. Also, the money saved from outsourcing jobs can help create more jobs in America. America is experiencing a large gap in income inequality between the working class and the wealthy class. According to Derek Thompson, the new wealthy class, which is the top 1% of America population, holds nearly 40% of America’s wealth; while the new working and social class holds significantly less than 7%. There are opinions thinking that this gap is caused by the rich, who only think about their profits and don’t even care that America is having job a shortage or people are working low wage for several years. On the other hand, some blame the working and social class for their “immobility”, saying that they are not trying hard enough to climb out of the bottom while depending too much on the government subsidizes. In his book, Dead Ringers, Shehzad Nadeem explores the impacts that outsourcing has on sending countries as well as the Indian workers it employs. Through personal interviews and the presentation of his own ideas, Nadeem presents the many perspectives, both positive and negative, through which different people view the outsourcing industry. He focuses primarily on the perspective that outsourcing has Westernized the Indian people as the outsourcing industry in India “frequently requires employees to don Western identities” (Nadeem 2011:7), including names, accents, and lifestyles, when speaking on the phone with customers. In my opinion, Nadeem puts great effort into ensuring his readers will grasp the abundance of concepts he discusses…

Outsourcing, a process of hiring another individual or company, either domestically or internationally, to handle the business activities for the firm. At this era, it is no longer an option as much as it is a necessity and has become a common business practice that allows small and medium size businesses to gain extra services and skills that are usually hard for them to develop due to shortage of manpower or financial restrictions, or maybe both. It allows the firms to be more focus on their core competencies, rather than tying up considerable company funds in something that can easily and cost effectively be done somewhere else and, more importantly, it will surely help the firm to cut the costs and improve their performances efficiently…
