Math has always been a difficult subject for me; I have always struggled with it and needed a little extra help. Although I am very aware that cheating is wrong I let frustration get the better of me and I found myself taking a picture of someone else 's test answers. On top of that when confronted about cheating I decided to lie and say I was taking a picture of someones notes. In 2010 The Josephson Institute Center for Youth Ethics " Surveyed 43,000 high school students and found that over half (59%) cheated on a test that year, and 34% cheated more than twice. In addition one-third used the internet to plagiarize an essay ("2010 Report Card"). Dishonesty or academic misconduct is any type of cheating that occurs in relation to a formal academic exercise"("Academic Dishonesty"). Forms of this include: plagiarism, fabrication, deception, cheating, sabotage ("Academic Dishonesty").
Prentice 2 Plagiarism involves taking someone else 's work without giving that person credit for it.
As an example had I quoted wikipedia and not cited it in my paper then that would have been considered plagiarism("Academic Dishonesty"). Fabrication is the use of false information in any academic assessment. If a scientist were to use false data to prove that a medication was effective when it actually wasn 't, then he would be guilty of fabrication("Academic Dishonesty"). Deception basically means lying about why a dead line was missed or lying about turning in wok that was never turned in. Most high school students are known for using this type
