New Years’ of 2014
It all started on December 31, 2013. I had decided to bring in the year with a few friends, who at the time I thought were my true friends. Just to find out later on that they weren’t. I thought that this was going to be a great way to bring in the New Year; I was wrong.
On the night of the 31st I was getting ready for the New Year’s Eve party that we have at my church every year. I’m always a part of the program, so naturally I was practicing. While I was practicing, I received a call from a friend of mine. She went on and on to tell me all about a party that was being thrown in Magee, MS. Of course I wanted to go. Once we started riding, it felt like this was going to be the longest ride of all time. Eventually we made it to the party and it was one of the most live parties of the season. I couldn’t wait to get in and turn up. When I opened the door everyone was dancing and singing; however, in the mist of the crowd I heard someone call my name. The voice sounded like a cousin of mine that I used to be close to. When I turned around to continue to look it, was my cousin standing right in my face. He reintroduced me to a friend of his who I had already known and met before. We all began to party and dance …show more content…
I just assumed that maybe it was my cousin coming to check on us, but I was wrong. As I repositioned myself in the bed to be more comfortable, I realized the touch of someone that wasn’t my own. I turned around to find my cousins friend. “What are you doing?” I asked him. “Shhh... don’t act like that...” he responded as he began to force himself upon me. He was trying his best to get what he wanted, but I wasn’t going to let that happen. I was determined to make sure he didn’t get what he wanted. As I reached out for my friends, I tried to move him and run, but I was getting nowhere. They eventually woke up, looked me in my eyes with fear, and left me there alone in the room with him. I wasn’t going to give up the fight. I was able to move his hand in the process of battling him; I could scream. I assume my cousin heard my cry for help and came to my rescue. He burst through the door, pushed him off of me, and dragged him outside. Eventually my cousin came back inside, he looked at me and burst into tears. He expressed how sorry he was and he should’ve looked after me better. I told him that I don’t want to speak of the matter ever
