It is almost unanimously agreed upon that the right to life is the most important and sacred right possessed by human beings. With this being said, it comes as no surprise that there are few issues that are more contentious than abortion. Some consider the process of abortion as immoral and consisting of the deprivation of one’s right to life. Others, on the opposite end of the spectrum, see abortion as a liberty and a simple exercise of the right to the freedom of choice. Those who adamantly oppose abortion are regarded as pro-life and those who are supporters of abortion are considered pro-choice by contemporary standards. When a woman in forced by pregnancy to carry and feed a baby for nine months, she risks her health and must put aside other interests. During pregnancy, women are very susceptible to illness because the fetus feeds of their nutrients and takes up space in their bodies that due to its deviation from normality, creates weaknesses in immunity. In addition, pregnancy causes an abnormal shift in female’s hormones. This is mostly responsible for the perceived mood swings that pregnant women exhibit while pregnant. Along with this, this new imbalance in hormones were directly responsible for causing weaknesses in the immune system that made pregnant women more susceptible to illness. Mentioning this, should pregnant women be more likely to contract illnesses due to something they did not want in the first place? It would obviously seem unfair to hold someone against his or her will under any circumstance while also forcing him or her to become ill. With this assumption, it would only make sense that one could not force a woman to not have an abortion if it meant that it was putting her health and welfare at stake. Also, since the fetus is using the mother’s body as not only living space, but as a means to live and gain nutrition, isn’t it only fair that
