Some critics do not do justice to the movies because because critics tend to be harsh on movies that they do not meet their standards. A movie does not need to meet the critics’ standard, but instead meet the audience standards or what the audience want from the movie directors. The movie A Walk to Remember is about a young woman who finds love with an immature boy from the wrong side of town, but soon discovers that she only has couple of days to live. Critics have given the movie “A Walk to Remember” by Adam Shankman a 4.1 out of 10 stars (Rotten Tomates) which does not any justice to the movie. American critics gave this movie a 4.1 rating, but what about the critics or the rating in other countries? In America this movie might be predictable, …show more content…
This movie story will provide the viewer of the movie a new type of love story that can change person perspective of love. As the critic, Pauline Kael states in her article, “A Trash, Art, and the Movies”, “it’s breather, a vacation from proper behavior and good taste and required responses,” (Kael). A Walk to Remember provides the audience with a sense of love story instead of having a prince and princess who can not meet because of their stepmother and stepsisters; instead this movie shows the audience of innocent girl whose love changes a wreck less boy into a gentleman. Even though romance and sexual scenes in movies is looked down upon in India, but this movie will be special because this movie is different from the norms. One big reason why this movie was a vacation from other movies because the fact that this movie was one of the few movies that showed a male point view instead of a female point of view. A critic in the The Guardian writes that “What I found interesting is that it was written from Landon 's perspective. Very few romance novels that I 've read have been from the male perspective,” (New York Girl). Adam Shankman choice of showing the movie in the male perspective instead of a female perspective, gave the movie a different feel and view about the movie. As mentioned before most movies are told in a female point of view which is boring to see now, but Shankman changed up things to make the movie more interesting. While rating this film critic have ignored the fact that this movie is a perfect example for a movie that takes a different approach from other movies by changing the story line and providing the movie in a male point of view instead of

Is there eternal sunshine in the spotless mind? This is the question posed by writers Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry and Pierre Bismuth in their movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This movie, directed by Gondry, explores the idea that feelings and emotions are more powerful than memories, and that if we erased all of our memories, we would still possess the feelings and emotions that were created by those memories. The movie was inspired by a male friend of Bismuth who said that he would like to have all memory of his girlfriend erased. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind tells a story about two people, Joel and Clementine, who are in a bad relationship and eventually break up.…

In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…

Steel Magnolias is my favorite movie. This movie reflects the daily lives of six southern women with different personalities and careers. Being a southern girl I could see myself in one of the characters. M'Lynn, Truvy, Annelle, Claree, Shelby and my favorite Ouiser all had a unique personality but are alike in so many ways which is the love they have for their families, one another, and the support for each other during family crisis. They laughed together, cried together and even made jokes about one another but as friends they always made the best out of all obstacles that crossed them rather it was a happy occasion or tragic.…

The myth of freedom is introduced as a major theme in both the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the film "The Graduate." Each work has evidence on how society controls us based on the conformities and what is "normal." Throughout these stories you can notice patterns on how higher authorizes empower and overrule people in society, which create restrictions towards who the characters are as people. Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest recognizes how higher authorities are controlling every aspect of their lives, and McMurphy challenges the theme of freedom, in numerous ways, within an enclosed environment.…

Forrest Gump is a film that defies the conventions of filmmaking, and in that sense it is difficult to do a typical analysis of the film. It’s not so much that the film is overly complicated or that reality is always in question or any art house tricks of that kind; it’s just that Gump doesn’t really follow any rules. We begin with the most obvious: the plot. This is a film that should have redefined the biopic. It is completely about the life and times of Forrest, the protagonist, in fact through it all that’s the only thing it’s consistently about.…
