Efficiency and the production of many organizations are dependent on the human capital. Human Resource has been considered as one of the important factors in the today 's world, by managing all material facts of both private and public sector organization. The reason for this is they involved with management decisions that have a major influence on the relationship between the organisations and employees (Beer, 1985). As the result, public and private sector 's capability relates to the activities through human resource management practices (Ulrich and Lake, 1991). While private sector, run by private individuals or companies, aim to earn a profit. However, both of them are the important key to the progress and development of any countries economies. There are differences in Human Resources Management (HRM) practices in each area, such as Recruitment and selection and Employee engagement. In this essay will show the differences in HRM roles in public and private sector.

Private sector organization is the organisations which are owned and managed by private individuals or enterprises with the sole objective to provide goods and services for customer in order to make a profit, for instance, Barclays Bank and Pfizer. On the other hand, Public sector organization is fully owned and run by the government with an objective to provide government goods and services to the public(Vanhala and Stavrou, 2013), such as Department for

According to Brown (2004), government 's administrative system was formalized and systematically addressed activities with specializing functional responsibility rules and processes to prevent a fraud and unfair selection in organizational position with an objective to benefit the citizen as a whole. A case in point is Department for Culture Media & Sport (DCMS), the public sector organization in the UK, use recruitment process to provide a job for people in the countries. With their strict application 's rule, the applicant must be a British or Commonwealth citizen or an EU National with no restrictions on working in the UK, they also offer an opportunity for people with a disability to have a job in the government department. However, the applicant must pass the Fast Stream Ethnic Minority Summer Development Programme (SDP), and the Summer Placement Scheme for Graduates with Disabilities (SPS). Moreover, their recruitment process, processed by Human Resources team, is needed to meet the requirements of the law of Civil Service Commissioners Recruitment Principles (DCMS, n.d.) . On the other hand, in Barclays Bank, private sector organization in the UK, their application process are less process than in public sector, and can be done by online.
