To start off, Zyklon B wasn’t just used for prisoners. It was used in Germany before and during World War II. The Blumenthal family was only one of many who suffered from the holocaust, under the reign of Hitler. Marion Blumenthal was lucky to have survived with her family, but not without memories of the terrible suffering her and the rest of the jews in that time went through. The book, Four Perfect Pebbles was named after a past time game Marion would play to distract from the horror around her in the concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen. She would search the grounds of the camp for four pebbles, each representing a member of her family, that were perfectly the same. She told herself that would be the sign that her family would stay together.…

The Germans killed the prisoners by large groups of them, but only when loud music was played. In February 9142 virtually most of the Soviet prisoners were dead for being too weak to work. The ones that were killed in the gas chamber was in July 1944. They have killed the Jews just because they have a different religion, not like the German's region. When they got to the camp they were examined and if they were unable to work or were very sick they were sent to a gas chamber being told they were going to medicine to help them get better but were killed by poisonous gasses (“Centers”). Gas was one of their best way of killing them because they could do it in large groups of people. The way they did this was they locked them in chambers and killed them with gas and disposed of their bodies by burning them (“Gassing”). Some people living today assume that the gassing operation was the main cause of death for the victims of the genocide, and it wasn’t. “After two days, thirst became intolerable, as did the heat.” (Wiesel 23) The Gestapo not only deprived them of the necessities, but they treated the Jews as if they weren’t human. And to the Gestapo, they weren’t, because of the lies apprised by…

By 1942, Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka were also established. These three camps were called the Operation Reinhard camps and were set up to terminate the Jewish population in Poland. At these camps, the SS terminated about 1,526,500 Jews from March 1942 to November 1943 (The National Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2015).…

There were many concentration camps spread all over Europe. A disturbing fact is that Auschwitz used Zyklon B to kill the people who they brought into the gas chambers. This is disturbing because Zyklon B was used to make the person choke and gag causing their death. A fact I also found very disturbing and disturbing was that liberators found seven tons of hair cut off from men and woman to be shipped off to industries to make wool with it.…

These are only a few of the experiments that they did. There are some more experiments that the Nazis tested on the Jews. The reason why the jews were put through all of these horrible testings is so the German military knew what their bodies could handle with different climates, poison and wounds, and more. They also tested different kinds of gases on the jews to see what would happen to the body if exposed to it for a short amount of time and a long amount of time.…
