Zoya's Story Analysis

The main base of the organization was moved from Kabul to Pakistan in early 1980’s, however most of the fieldwork and evidence gathering was conducted in Afghanistan during the Soviet Union and the Taliban. A memoir written by one of the RAWA members called “Zoya’s Story” give detail about the work of RAWA and the risks of the work that RAWA memebers do. Zoya was born to a poor family, she was only three years old when Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, and her parents were members of RAWA organization since it was established. Zoya’s story would be analyzed in chapter 3 and 4 in details and how Zoya resisted oppression by joining RAWA at early age.
