The Mask of Zorro
Alejandro Murrieta is one of the main characters in the movie “The Mask of Zorro”. He becomes Diego De La Vega’s replacement as the legendary hero. With mask and sword, the new Zorro tries to stop Don Rafael's plot to buy California, bring justice to the people suffering by Spanish avarice, and win the heart of Diego's daughter named Elena. Alejandro carry the qualities of being tenacious, fearless, and loyal which advantage his victory.
Tenacity is another quality of Zorro. Don Diego trains the young to inherit the legend of Zorro. ``You know how to use that?'' the old man asks, pointing to the younger one's sword. ``Yes,'' he says, ``the point goes into the other man.'' Alejandro’s strong will to learn makes him somewhat a humorous character in the novel and determination helps him pass his training after lessons in fencing, hand-to-hand combat, the arts of swinging from ropes, etc. At first, the hero was a little clumsy, but eventually he becomes supremely skilled in the sword, and has a powerful and highly trained horse who answers to whistle cues.
