As a civically engaged students who often disagrees with my peers I have misspoken on numerous occasions, leading to hampered relationships with fellow students and friends. Much like Judy, I always apologize immediately upon realizing my mistake, even though apologies do not take away the stinging effect of words. The concept of divisive rhetoric has also been at the forefront of the political stage in the 2016 election. At his graduation, she gives an uplifting speech, encouraging the heart not only for academy graduates, but for all animals, stating that no matter who you are you truly can become anything you want to be. By being resilient, Judy was able to mend the relationships she had previously broken, and strengthen the community of Zootopia.
The ending of the movie demonstrates the importance of ethics to viewers, by attaching a negative appearance on Mayor Bellwether. By depicting her as a traitor, young viewers learn the importance of ethical decision making, as well as having good character. Mayor Bellwether lacks these traits and is ultimately arrested as a result, leading children to develop an affinity for ethical decision making, honesty, and other traits of good character. Despite being an animated movie intended for young viewers, Zootopia contains a multitude of leadership lessons applicable to all ages. The examples set forth in the film model ideal behavior for children, and inspire all viewers to make a difference in their communities.
