The animation is spectacular with a few genuinely breathtaking moments. One extended chase sequence through a rain-soaked jungle at night makes striking use of moonlight effects, and an early introduction to Zootopia via monorail is structured like a video game cut scene introducing the world but still manages to flood the screen with interesting flourishes of visual innovation in long, confident shots. In close-up, all the animals look amazing. Each creature looks truly alive like their hair was individually animated to react to its environment. The action sequences are well-edited, exciting, and a joy to watch. In addition, the voice cast is wonderful with every actor and character is perfectly matched. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman shine as Judy and Nick, with their playful and occasionally mistrustful verbal squabble. There is also an imposing vocal turn from Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, whose strident tones provide an amusing contrast with those of the diminutive Judy and it is relatable to the nature of his characters.

Zootopia is a delightful family film. It has everything that makes a good movie: great characters, a wonderful theme of going for your dream, strong message on the danger of stereotyping and discrimination and there is lots of humour. It is a highly recommended movie for those who looking for a break with family on Saturday

Cinematic Depictions There are a few films create a perception of inefficiencies of government as well as how these inefficiencies can lead to harmful if not deadly consequences. In Bryon Howard’s 2016 film, Zootopia, we can use the classic Department of Motor Vehicles (“DMV”) scene to illustrate inefficiency. In the scene at the DMV a rookie cop gets the help of a DMV employee depicted as a slow-moving sloth. The rookie cops need to run a license plate quickly, to track down a lead but due to the sloth movement it takes longer than it should. Additionally, due to the attention the DMV employee requires to devote to the task at hands and minor mistake leads him to slowly but surely attempt to remedy it by repeating the process from the beginning.…

Los Angeles Zoo Primates Our day at the zoo simply started with the objective of completing our visit, by seeing at least one each of the primates of each category around the zoo. That was quickly discarded considering that amount of information that the zoo provided for us about each individual creature. Because of the way that the zoo was structured we were unable to simply follow a particular order in which the animals were categorized. We visited all the different primates (as much as we could possibly see in our time there) and simply observed them each and photograph their actions behaviors and appearance along with potential eats and actives that may undergo on a daily base. Organizing the visits based on categories made it easier to structure and understand why it is that each type of primate belongs to that group.…

One thing she would notice is the focus on queer theory. The relationship between Judy Hops and the fox, Nick Wilde, would be queer in her eyes because of their non-reproductive stance. Not only are they different species, but their relationship is platonic. Halberstam states “children are not coupled, they are not romantic, they do not have religious morality, they are not afraid of death or failure, they are collective creatures, they are in a constant state of rebellion against their parents, and they are not the masters of their domain” which is explaining that the young innocence of children is essentially just being queer (Halberstam 47). Since in the city of Zootopia, all the animals and different species are living together, that shows that overall it is non-reproductive because they all are co-existing with the other species.…
