Zoologist Career Research Paper

A zoologist a person who studies the behavior, genetics, life progression, and origin of different types of animals. A zoologist may choose to devote their entire studies to just one breed of animal or they can choose to study multiple, it just depends on what the individual is interested in. Some zoologist work at zoos, taking direct care of the animals, which is the basic idea of this career, that everyone has. However they may also be found working at wildlife reserves studying populations, hunting patterns, learning how to take care of the endangered species, and they can even be found in the aquariums. There is always an assumption that zoologists are always outside working with animals, but that is not necessarily true. Many zoologists have the opportunity to work in lab-based groups, studying the different biological aspects of animals. Core courses for most zoology programs are general biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Within the biology department, most zoologist students are allowed options of taking marine biology, ecology, genetics, animal behavior, or zoo and aquarium science. Personal characteristics that a person needs to have for this to be their profession besides being intrigued by animals is to be good at critical thinking, complex problem solving, decision making, active learning, and being good at dealing with scientific software.
