Samita Andreansky, a virologist at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine explains to National Geographic that even the symptoms of the rabies virus and the “zombie virus” are actually quite similar. Some of the symptoms including, anxiety, hallucinations, and paralysis, all of which present throughout the evolution of the “zombie virus” (Than). Andreansky continued to explain that the rabies virus is actually just a mutation or two away from being able to possibly be a “zombie virus” contender (Than). For the rabies virus to reach a pandemic level like the “zombie virus” it would have to become a hybrid virus with another virus that can be spread through the air. The possibility of this happening in nature would be very slim as multiple viruses would have to mutate together, this could take years for anything to even react. However, when has the U.S. government ever been stopped from genetically modifying just about anything. With a “zombie virus” in sight scientists around the world look to neurotoxins for further inspiration on what is needed to transform someone into a real life …show more content…
Denying the fact society has multiple viruses that could be mutated together over the years to create a life threatening zombie infection is by far one of the most illogical things this nation could do. Allowing people to possess neurotoxins that can end up zombifying other individuals is irresponsible on the government's behalf. And finally denying cannibals as zombies, along with not taking cannibals seriously could end up in serious backlash for the nation. If the government does not start taking these matters seriously the country will be caught off guard when the real zombie apocalypse happens. Is this country going to sit around denying the fact zombies could be roaming the streets and the possibility for a potential zombie outbreak, or is this country going to stand up for itself and take charge, putting an end to the zombie
