I have chosen the Twin zodiac, Gemini, as my favorite constellation. I believe this constellation shares a remarkable resemblance to myself. Being born in this same zodiac, my interests continue to climb. As mostly known, the Gemini is known for its affiliation and power over the element of air. Astronomically the actual stars of Gemini are coincidentally named Castor and Pollux. Apparently it is rare for mythology and astronomy to agree. Gemini significantly shows a well measure of yin and yang, for those under this sign have a sort of balance about them. It is said that those born under the Gemini, are rather intellectual when it comes to finding out just what they want to know. Instead of going the route of what they are forced to taught, …show more content…
Among the lustrous city of Rome, men and women lived in a well organized society unlike one we would know today. As a sort of story time learning, most children of Rome were taught about an ancient legend. Two twin sisters were born in a far away village in Egypt. The queen and king of Egypt were world renown for their power and nobility, for no one seemed to want to challenge their reign. Then, just beyond the valley which bordered the poor from the wealthy, two beautiful baby girls were born. The village was not the same faith as all of Egypt, they believed in the following dead spirits rather than individual gods. A certain unknown spirit had visited the two baby girls, and gave both of them a certain gift that would help depict their destiny and future. The first born twin was known as Haygen, born with bright red fiery hair and peachy skin. Her gift was the gift of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. From then on, she would be known as the all knowing as well as the wise. The last born twin was known as Rinata, born of golden blonde wavy locks and alabaster porcelain skin. Her gift was one of arts, song, and text. From then on, she would be known as the great muse of her people with a voice like an

My favorite constellation is Scorpius ("The Scorpion") due to the fact that I am a Scorpio (my birthday is November 15th). Scorpius is the southernmost constellation out of all the Zodiac constellations and is near the center of the Milky Way. Also, the red star, Antares, is located where the Scorpion's heart is supposed to be. The star is red because it should be going out soon. The Scorpion's heart may either turn into a black hole (which many describe our hearts to be like) or a new star.…

have chosen Gemini, because of its interesting shape and position in The Milky Way Galaxy. Gemini was one of the 48 constellations described by Ptolemy in the second century AD, amd it has been listed as one of the 88 modern constellations today. Gemini translates from Latin, literally meaning 'The Twins' because of its shape, which resembles two humans holding hands. The two brightest stars, representing the two 'heads' are named Castor and Pollux after the Greek mythological twins. The creation tale of Gemini is an interesting one.…

Legendary Foundation of Rome Republic vs. Historical Realities and Women. I will attempt to compare the legendary foundation of the republic of Rome described by Livy in a document called The Rape of Lucretia with the historical realities described in The History of Western Societies, a text book. I will also look at the structure of the Roman family and views on women. I will show that the description by Livy and the realities of Rome are very close and my hope is that you will be able to see how Livy’s myth could be plausible. I also hope that you will be able to see in my argument that women at this time were no more than a piece of property with minimal rights, but there was an aspect of respect as to the need for and devotion of women…

my favourite constellation would be the Scorpius constellation, because that's my zodiac sign, and I love the way scorpio has made me the woman I am today, In Greek mythology, the myths associated with Scorpio almost invariably also contain a reference to Orion. I have chosen Cancer as my favorite constellation because it is the sign I was born under. Latin for "crab", it is the dimmest of all the zodiac constellations and used to be the Sun's most northerly position in the sky. It is located in between Gemini (to its west) and Leo(to its east). It is best known among stargazers as home of Praesepe, an open cluster. Cancer is most well known in Greek mythology as the crab sent by the goddess Hera to help the hydra kill Heracles.…
