The stories in the stars The zodiac seems to apply to all area of people's lives, it goes with dating, jobs and just the general way you live your life. Although it has not always been this way. All of the zodiac started out as separate legends, just stories you would tell around the campfire or to your kids as a bedtime story. “Many Astrologers feel that the figure of a ship upon the ocean is appropriate to describe the methods they use” (Adams et. al. n.p). Over time the stories and legends slowly became more, which resulted in astrology. All or most try to explain why things exist and how they came to be. The zodiac tries to explain how twelve constellations came to be. To know what others believe in, shows that that person is interested and does not want to be naive about the subject and then maybe they could witness to the person without scaring them away or seeming uninterested.“The stars and constellations all lead back to their creator” (The Bible in the Stars n.p). The Greek zodiac focuses on when someone is born and correlates with the seasons of the year. Many believe the zodiac is directly connected to the stars but that's not one hundred percent true. Although there are legends about the zodiac that lead them to the stars, they focus on the months of the years and seasons. The legends also connect to the Greek gods where they originated. We need to know it is important to know their beliefs someone can lead them to the right path. “A Christian has no need of astrology with it's futile hints because believers can turn instead to the guidance of God and His word” (Graham …show more content…
When the subject comes up someone either knows what they are talking about or they are totally lost. It is super important to know what a subject is about so when talking to others someone does not come off as naive. “Superstition is to religion what astrology is to astronomy, the mad daughter of a wise mother. These daughters have too long dominated the earth (Voltaire n.p). Astrology and Astronomy are different although they are often confused with one another. Astrology is the movement of the stars and astronomy is the study of stars and planets. Astrologers look into the heavens and find the answers they are looking for then make charts and maps based on what they find (Woolfolk et. al. n.p).“Astrology is Astronomy brought down to Earth and applied toward the affairs of men” (Emerson n.p). Today those two topics seem to be becoming the same. Although it has not always been this way. The beliefs behind the zodiac originated in Greece. It was focused around the legends of the Greek gods, such as Zeus. Most of the stories were tragedies which shapes the personality of the sign and how it is supposed to show through the person who has that sign.“Astronomy to the selfish becomes astrology” (Emerson n.p).
