With this specific predator, further investigation and further intelligence would be needed; in order to bring someone to justice, whether they are alive or dead, more information would be needed. The case of the Zodiac killer went inactive in 2004, therefore there had been no communication between the killer and the outside world in thirty years. With this being said there is the speculation that the person is or was in prison, or was dead due to how suddenly everything stopped. Further intelligence would be needed within the letters that were sent as well as seeing if there was any evidence that might not have seemed important at the time. Dealing with further investigation would have to show that there were actions committed by this killer …show more content…
The Zodiac is one of the most infamous serial killers not only due to the face that he was never caught but due to the way that he evaded the police and was brazen enough to send the police letters, as well as newspaper sources, that included information about himself. With having seven confirmed victims either dead or alive, the Zodiac killer is suspected of many more that could not be linked to him or because they were never found. Sadly, these families that fell victim to this perpetrator will never see justice. Most serial killers are caught either because they have a slip up or because they become too confident and then slip up but with the Zodiac killer he was different; he killed primarily within a year from the first kill to the last kill and then just stopped but wrote letters for almost 4 years after the last kill. Without a doubt, the Zodiac killer was a psychopath due to the control that he showed and the glimpses inside his own mind when his letters were decrypted. The most famous thing that was included in his letters to the police was a tally showing the Zodiac victims and the police having a zero next to their name, in a sense this was him taunting them by stating that I have killed this many and you still have no clue who I am, where I am, when my next kill is going to be,

A lot of people want to blame the parents of the offenders, asking “what did you turn your child into?” 36% of serial killers were physically abused, 26% were sexually abused, and 50% were psychologically abused (Mitchell and Aamodt 45). Many people have logically come to the conclusion that just because someone is abused, it does not mean that they will become a serial killer; or even a murderer; which is true. In the general population (people who have never committed murder) only 6% are physically abused, 3% are sexually abused, and 2% are psychologically abused (Mitchell and Aamodt 45). The dramatic difference of abuse frequency between people who are serial killers and people who are not seems evident enough to support that serial killers are created.…

He was considered charming and good-looking which allowed him to be attractive to women and even got him many fans. Ted Bundy was one of the few serial killers which developed a fan base, even throughout his trials and his interviews he continued to be cunning and manipulative by saying things such as, “I don’t want to die; I won’t kid you. I deserve, certainly, the most extreme punishment society has. And I think society deserves to be protected from me and from others like me.” (Sypff 77, 2015).…

He has reportedly killed five people and injured at least two. His method of attack varies in each crime and the only thing that ties them all together is the phone calls he made after each of his attacks. The interesting part of the case is when the Zodiac, himself, sent encoded messages to the media for them to circulate into the newspapers. The name “Zodiac” was the name he used to address himself in the letters he sent. The reason I chose to write on the topic of the Zodiac Killer is simply because I find it interesting that the first crime was committed over 45 years ago and the killer still has not been caught.…

The Zodiac Killer was believed to have been responsible for at least five murders in Northern California in the 1960’s, although it is possible he could be responsible for more than just the five. The first confirmed Zodiac killing was on December 20, 1968, when 17-year-old David Faraday and his 16-year-old girlfriend Betty Lou Jensen were shot to death near their car on the outskirts of Vallejo, California. The second killing was on July 5, 1969, when Darlene Ferrin, 22, and her boyfriend, Mike Mageau, 19, were sitting in parked car in Vallejo when they were approached by a man with a flashlight who fired multiple shots at them, killing Ferrin and seriously wounding Mageau. Within an hour of the attack, a man called the Vallejo Police Department,…

Nature vs Nurture: Serial Killers Throughout history, people have been horrified yet fascinated with serial killers. But, the huge question is, ¨Are serial killers born or made?¨ Before answering this, I must first establish exactly what a serial killer is. A serial killer is much different than just a murderer. According to the Oxford Dictionary, a serial killer is defined as a person who commits a series of murders, often with no apparent motive and following a characteristic, predictable behavior pattern. Although some might say that these monsters are born, I believe they are a product their nurturing.…

To be classified as serial killer there has to be three important considerations. “Other suggestions are that there must be a motivation, that this motivation tends to be sexual, that the killer will fantasize about the murder and finally, that the killing is premeditated. To eliminate other types of killings like terrorism or assassinations, the murder itself must be the primary motivator. Once serial murder is adequately defined, a deeper look can be taken into the life of the murderer” (Georgie Ann Weatherby, Danielle M. Buller, Katelyn McGinnis, 2009). Ted Bundy was a very interesting person to try to understand.…

It is common knowledge that the otaku community is not accepted well by the society. Especially by the Japanese society. People have continuously asked the question of whether serial killers are born or made. Researchers have done countless studies to provide the world with an answer. Truth be told, despite all of the research, there is still no definite answer (Allely, Minnis and Thompson). Of course, something is mentally wrong with a person if they desire killing other human beings, but the decision to act on this desire is based solely on other influences that caused the person to make that choice. People are obviously more comfortable with blaming the act of serial killing on some mental defect of the brain because it is frightening to think to think we as a society play a part in a person becoming a serial killer.…
