The Muzarabani district has also enjoyed the management of the flow of Ziziphus mauritiana from one actor to the other .The decentralisation policy has allowed the local authority to be involved in extension services, marketing and agro- ecological processing of Ziziphus mauritiana to some extent. Other actors involved include; the international institute Southern Alliance for Indigenous Resources (SAFIRE) and Indigenous fruit tree programme of the World agro forestry centre (ICRAF).
