The AC showed him the original galaxy but he was disappointed because it looked just like the other galaxies. At the beginning of Lucky’s Dream I never imagined where this book would have taken us over these past twelve weeks or so. I couldn’t have predicted the journey that lead four such uniquely different people to build a bond that bloomed into the most inspiring of friendships. From the beginning, Odysea and Jimmy had a one-of-a-kind friendship that slowly strengthened as their journey continued. It was their relationship, in my opinion that allowed for them to open their arms, minds and, more importantly, their hearts to Lucky and in the end Marion and Diane. It takes special minds, leaning abilities, and intelligences to undertake the events that began to unravel from the very first page of Lucky’s Dream.…

When F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote “A New Leaf” for the Saturday Evening Post in 1931 it is unclear if he knew the impact it would have on the literary world almost a century later. His short story is set in Paris, France and incorporates three characters: the beautiful heiress Julia Ross, the scholarly lawyer Phil Hoffman and the handsome playboy Dick Ragland and tells the tale of their incipient love triangle. Fitzgerald himself was an alcoholic as Biography.com Editors states “Always a heavy drinker, he [Fitzgerald] progressed steadily into alcoholism…

Firstly, the values and ways of Jimmy to understand the world can be identified as the conflict between goodness and evilness. The nature of Jimmy is goodness because he usually thinks things and others in the good view even these things are horrible. For example, Atwood describes that “Jimmy made a pretence of thinking” after Jimmy knows Crake want to drug all human beings in the modern society (122). The word of “pretence” represents Jimmy naturally think his friend is always good even his actions may cause some unfavorable consequences to others. He will pretend the consequences do not exist.…
