1. Is Zingerman's 2020 Vision motivating? Why or why not?

Zingerman's Vision for the Year 2020 is a great example on how to 'paint' a positive destination for an existing business. The writing covers so many aspects that it has to be motivating for people within the organization regardless of their role. Excellence is the constant tone of the paper, no matter if it talks about Zingerman's products, service, technology, learning, or even fun. Excellence seems to be the main value of the organization, and the entire Vision is built around it. The goals are described into great detail, and the authors don't omit to mention what the organization shouldn't become - a cold depersonalized

How does this particular organization keep its customers happy, create positivity, and motivate employees not only to stick around but also to be committed to its growth?

Customer's satisfaction is earned through the high-quality standards Zingerman's promoted from its beginnings. The culinary products they sell are genuinely tasty, made of the best natural ingredients brought in stores not only from local producers but also from all corners of the world. But that isn't the only ingredient here. Customers find, in all Zingerman's stores, warm and cheerful service offered by creative servers that go an extra mile for customer satisfaction. What motivates employees in that case?

The organization motivates employees through empowerment. One example is the training that they receive on how to compile the financial statements. Training doesn't end here, as career growth has no limits, ever since the beginning many employees' careers grew along with the business. Many of them see Zingerman's as a life changing environment. It is more than an open-door setting, the business offers inclusion of all alike, as emphasized in the "Partners Group" meetings example where even new entry personnel is
