Zeus was the god of the sky and the ruler all of the gods. He was considered the father of all people because he protected them and helped them when it was needed. His power was thunder and lightning that helped him succeed by letting him throw thunderbolts at people who displeased him or caused harm to good people. He also controlled the weather and is able to cause any natural situation in the sky if he wanted to. A source says, “ At his command, mighty thunders would flash and lightnings would roll, wreaking havoc; or the skies would open to rejuvenate the earth with life-giving water”(), even his thunder and anger creates something to give to the world. Cronus was told that he was bound to get overthrown by his sons like he overthrew his father and he ate his children.They had Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, and Zeus but all of them were swallowed by Cronus but were still living in his stomach. On the other hand, when Zeus was about to be born, he was replaced with a rock that was wrapped around with cloths by Rhea so Zeus wouldn’t get eaten. Cronus did swallow the rock but nothing happened to him because his mother was told about this and saved him. Then, Zeus was born in a cave and moved to Ideon Andron, another cave for safety and upgrowing. Zeus grew up there with seven guards that were giants and were asked by his grandmother to keep him safe. According to an article, “They masked the crying by banging loudly their legendary shields with their swords, thus Cronus could not hear Zeus. According to another version, Curetes danced a very fast dance and their armors banged loudly(Cretan beaches),” they tried to hide Zeus from Cronus to the best of their ability.
