Zentangle Art Analysis

The media of this art piece consisted of large construction paper, and a permanent marker. The elements of design in the Zentangle amount to Line, Shape, Space, and Texture. The principles of design comprise of Pattern, Emphasis, Balance, Harmony, and Rhythm/Movement. I chose these because if you look at the art piece it directly pertains to the art. These elements and principles are absolutely essential to creating a wonderful zentangle. In order to create this art piece, we were recommended to draw zentangle of an animal we admire or a “spirit animal.” I chose a wolf. A wolf represents forth instinct, intelligence, appetite for freedom, and awareness of the importance of social connections. The wolf also symbolizes fear of being threatened

The work of art I chose to discuss this week is, Equestrian Portrait of King Phillip II (Michael Jackson), an oil on canvas painting done in 2010 by Kehinde Wiley. I chose this painting because Kehinde Wiley’s art interests me. When I first looked up some of his work I found that he has a signature style of remake classic paintings from the 17th century all the way up to the 19th century. But he adds his own twist to them. He gets innovative and incorporates African-American figures into his paintings as the focal point.…

My piece I have chosen for the Archibuld Rultiedge embodies my perspective of animal oppression caused by the hands/influences of humans. Being a supporter of animal and human rights, I deeply dug within my self to capture the emotions of the animal (lion), while including symbolic representations that tie with my over all message. The image of hands represent power/strength- capabilities of man. In the picture, depicts the violence and oppression of the lion; a animal of strength and dignity of the animal kingdom. As you can see the lion is being taken down by the items of man that are used to control or oppress another/thing, this represents the power and balance stripped by humans for their own greed and selfish intentions.…

Rome was a polytheistic culture. This meant they believed in many gods and goddesses that all represented their own aspect of life or nature. The Romans were so devoted to them that they built massive buildings of worship to them known as the Pantheon. Not only did the Romans took what the gods said as law, but even incorporated them in their everyday lives and their ceremonies as well. This can be seen on the three wall paintings located in the Roman exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.…

The piece have many different elements of art and the three I chose were color, line, and shape. Color is one of the most important things in this picture, because if this was a plain black and white piece no one would find it interesting. This picture has all of the primary colors in it that's what makes it a strong piece. Also there's a lot of black in the picture as well the black is important to because it symbolizes the sadness. In each corner of the picture there's a different image so this pictures can tell many stories.…
