In his novel Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert Pirsig tells the story of a father and son who embark on a cross country motorcycle trip. Everything we experience is based solely on our senses.Although all people experience their surroundings differently, some people have greater differences than others. For example, many people are colorblind and experience colors more muted than the average person. Also, many people have one or more senses that is impaired. This causes them to construct their reality in a different way than the average person.
